Anything Second City Can Do…

So, my friend Kaori just went and got a blog posted on Torontoist.com. The article concerns Second Harvest and their want for all Torontonians on Thursday, Feb 26th, to bring their lunch to work or school and donate the money they would have spent to Second Harvest.

The promotion of this sort of thing is, if you know her, so Kaori.

So then she emails me and asks me if I’d promote what Second City is doing that day. She does this because she’s under the really misinformed notion that I’m famous and have power. On Thursday, Feb 26th, instead of having you bring in lunch money, they will donate $5.00 for every ticket sold for the Thursday, Feb 26th performance. Second City, Second Harvest. Nice cooperative crossover.

So it got me thinking. If you don’t know already, I’m going to be doing my first show as the regular host at the comedy night at McVeigh’s on Thursday, Feb 26th. So, not to be outdone by Second City, and believe me, they’ve had it coming for a looooooooooooong while, I’m going to do the same. Except we only ever charge $5.00 at the door. So here’s the deal:

If you come down to my first show at McVeigh’s at 9:00pm on Thursday, Feb 26th, I will donate the ENTIRE SHOW PROCEEDS of $5.00 per ticket to the Second Harvest lunch program. How’s that grab you? If you’re a comic performing on the show or observing, you are exempt as per usual, but I’d really like all in attendance to put $5.00 in the till for a good cause.

Now, I know I’m late at this, and if you can’t make it to the show, you can donate online to the cause by clicking HERE.

That okay by you, Kaori?
