Only Idiots That Drink All Weekend With Their Brother Are Allowed To Neglect Their Show Blogs
So I qualify…
Both the shows last week in smaller venues were actually quite good. Shane Philips (aka Hiebert) organized a room at the George and Dragon pub in Georgetown. Jealous? You should be. It was a nice little room again without question. Local talent came out to join me and the others from Toronto (Jason Blanchard, Andrew Evans, Brian Hope, and Dave Paterson). Surprised? Yes, it’s true folks. We all come as a package. The locals that came out had good sets considering finding regular spots to perform in Georgetown are about as easy to find as a George W. Bush “Kierkegaard” reference. I think they’d hold their own on most open mic’s in TO.
Thursday had me in Hamilton, and as I type this, I think, “Yeah, the tour did build.” The room was the Fool and Flagon, again with the pubs, and again a nice layout for a room. Segregated room, cozy, would be great full…but it had eight people in it. Didn’t seem to matter. James Uloth hosted with aplomb and brought me up for my ten minuter. Would I do the room again? Even if there were three people. Don’t diss the Hammer in my presence.
